Beginner's Guide to Fastingنموونە

For a fast to last, you must make sure your goals are clear.
Be specific. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and consider what you are facing in life right now.
Do you need direction, healing, restoration of your marriage?
Are you encountering issues in your family or financial difficulties? Why are you fasting? Once you have narrowed in on the reason for your fast, determine the length of your fast before you begin. If you say, “I’ll see how I feel,” let me assure you, that’s the easiest way not to last. Determine ahead of time your reason for starting and how long you want to abstain from eating.
When we fast out of pure motives, God hears. We never fast to manipulate God to do our will, but to bend ours so we can do His.
Today’s Prayer:
Lord, I come before you with a heavy heart. You know what I am going through. I leave this in your hands because I trust your perfect will be done in my life.

The practice of fasting is prevalent in the Scriptures. We see throughout the Bible this concept was practiced by kings, prophets, and all of God’s people to this day. As you fast, you’ll notice it will help increase your humility, your hunger, and your holiness as you are formed into the image of Christ.
