Moments for Mums: Refreshing - Part 2نموونە
The words from Psalm 91:1-4 hang above my desk. There are days when my very soul is drained and it feels like I have nothing left to give. The imagery of these words draws me in. I imagine myself tucked under a huge wing covered in feathers, safe like a chick tucked under its mother’s wing.
It’s an invitation to rest and not try to figure everything out on my own. It’s an assurance of security within even when the world seems to be falling apart around me.
Reading the promise of rescue and protection, particularly from disease, I come back to the words of Jesus in John 16:33 that we will face hard times in this world but that he has overcome the world. We may face the reality of ourselves or loved ones being ill but with the deep assurance that we are loved and secure no matter the outcome or situation.
Lean into those “faithful promises” (v. 4). May you be refreshed whenever you see a feather and remember these verses.
Take some time to sit and rest, imagining yourself protected under God’s wing.
Question

Father, you are my refuge and protection. Help me to trust you and be refreshed as I rest in you.

About this Plan
Motherhood can feel relentless and have us running on empty at times. Add in the rest of life and it is easy to get to a place of feeling exhausted and soul weary. God meets us in those moments and offers refreshing for our souls. Encouragement for mums in the midst of the beautiful mess of parenting and life.
