DAY 8 OF 28

God Prepares a Deliverer

The people of Israel went from being honored guests in Egypt to slaves. Joseph, who had saved the nation from starvation, was long forgotten. As God blessed the nation of Israel, the King of Egypt saw them as a threat. Not only were they forced to become slaves, but the Egyptians made their lives bitter, working them ruthlessly.

The more the Israelites experienced oppression, the more they grew. The King of Egypt decided to decrease their population by creating an edict to kill all the newborn baby boys. God, in His mercy, heard the cries of his people and began to prepare a new leader that would lead his people into deliverance.

Daily Challenge: How about you? Are you facing a situation that is out of your control? Have you been crying out in prayer but feeling like there is still no way out? Be encouraged! God does hear our prayers, and he can provide deliverance for you. Take time today to petition God with your needs, trusting that he can answer your prayers.
