Insecure

DAY 2 OF 28

God Creates Man

Adam and Eve were initially secure in their relationship with their creator. We see from the creation account that God created humanity with intentionality. In chapter one, we see he spoke creation into existence, but in chapter two, God did not speak man into existence, but he formed man from the dust of the ground with his own two hands. Vs. 7 tells us he breathed into Adam's nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Later in today's passage, it also tells us.

"'25 Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.''

Because there was no sin in the world, Adam and Eve did not know what shame was. They were secure in who God had made them to be and had a close relationship with him. Only when the serpent came to them and caused them to question what God had said, they began to experience insecurity. Since the first sin, God has been calling us back into the kind of relationship he had with his creation in the garden. God longs to walk with us, talk with us, to let us know his love for us. He longs for us to find our security in him.

Daily Challenge: Think back to a time in your life when you felt confident or secure. Who was a part of your life during that time, or what support contributed to you feeling safe?
