DAY 3 OF 7

Overcoming the lie of Intimidation

Do not focus on how small you are, but focus on how big your God is.

Intimidation is one of the devil's most employed strategies. He will trap you in insults from your past, paralyzing you and keeping you from fulfilling God's plan for your life. The Philistines intimidated the army of Israel day and night. As a result, they were crippled by fear. Goliath insulted and threatened David. Insults can be intimidating. It’s even worse when we believe them, and they become a part of our identity. Saul looked down on young David and underestimated him. David's brothers misunderstood his motives. But David stood firm in his God-given identity. When Goliath spoke small of David, David responded with How mighty His God is.

This can be applicable in our own lives. When the going gets tough, choose to praise God. When others doubt your capacity, choose to praise God. Let others see how great your God is through your lifestyle of praise. Are you living to make your name great? Or are you living to let others know how great your God is? When we are focused on our reputation, we will easily get tossed about by the enemy. But when we are focused on making Gods’ name famous, God vindicates us. No matter what you’re pursuing, stay focused on how powerful God is. The Almighty One lives inside of you!!

Praise is powerful. Praise reveals who Jesus is to those around us. When we focus on praising and listening to the Lord instead of fulfilling our own plans and purposes, we become vessels of His goodness and strength.
