The Interesting Thing About the Road and the Tableنموونە
JESUS WANTS TO SIT AT THE TABLE WITH YOU
Who doesn't enjoy a good meal with the people they love sitting around the table? Didn't some of your best conversations take place there, at the table? Isn't it true that when you want to serve someone, you invite them to your house and prepare the table to sit and eat with them?
When it comes to our relationship with Jesus, the same thing happens. Sometimes we make it more difficult to follow Jesus when He modeled it with His disciples using two of the most common and everyday things that exist: the road and the table.
On the first day of this devotional, we talked about the invitation we received from Jesus to walk with Him, to meet Him in every step we take, and to follow His path. And in this journey of faith, we cannot only walk or run, but we need to take time to sit down to breathe, to rest, to drink the water that refreshes, and eat the food that satisfies the soul and spirit.
Jesus wants to sit at the table with you!
It is there, at the table, where Jesus points us again to our Heavenly Father and reminds us that even amid difficulties and gray days, "He prepares a banquet for us in the presence of our enemies." (Psalm 23:5)
The interesting thing about the road and the table is that there is no road without a table to get to, and there is no table without a road to continue moving forward! Many times when we are following Jesus, we only focus on walking, on doing, on reaching, and we forget that our strength is actually found in the calm and satisfaction that comes from sitting at the table with Him.
When was the last time you sat down to enjoy the table, His table?
There is a place for you, a seat for you with your name, at His table. The table is ready and served. Are you ready?
About this Plan
Have you ever wondered what it means to follow Jesus and how to grow in your relationship with Him? You would be surprised to know that He´ll use the simplest things to connect with you! The interesting thing about the road and the table is that Jesus used those things to connect with His disciples, and it is still what He uses today to connect with you as well.
