The Interesting Thing About the Road and the Tableنموونە
JESUS WANTS TO WALK WITH YOU
My best travel memories have happened either on the road or around a table. I grew up doing many trips with my parents, enjoying the road, the conversations that happened on the way to our destination, and the songs that we sang and made up. For me, the best way to get to know a city is by walking. And if I want to really get to know a person, I think there is nothing better than getting on the road with him or her, because without a doubt, a conversation is going to happen.
Being a Christian is not a religion, it´s being a part of a relationship. So, if being a Christian literally means to follow Christ, have you ever wondered what it means to walk with Him?
Luke recorded a story in Luke 24:13-35 about a couple of Jesus' followers and how He met them on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus. It was a Sunday, which today we know as Easter Sunday, but for them it was the worst Sunday of their lives. Their leader, teacher, and best friend, Jesus, had died that past Friday on a cross. Suddenly, Jesus himself encountered them on the road, began to walk with them, and wanted to be part of their conversation!
Jesus knew perfectly well what these men were talking about, and yet He asked them what they were talking about, just to have a conversation with them.
Perhaps you have bought into the idea that Jesus is not interested in what you feel, that He doesn´t want to listen to you, or that, if He knows everything you think, then why should you pray? But the reality is that even though He knows the depths of your heart, He longs to hear what's on your mind.
He is going to get in your way because he wants to start a conversation with you! It turns out that the same God of the universe has done the impossible to relate to you. So, when was the last time you talked with God on the road of your life? Today you have free access, through Jesus, to talk and walk with your Heavenly Father!
Take advantage, and enjoy it today! He wants and is ready to listen to you, and live with you on this journey called life.
