Familia

DAY 12 OF 20

Wouldn't it be kind of strange if every family looked the same? One mom, one dad, 2.5 kids, and a dog named Fido? Likely, you've seen more families that do not look like this example here. Some families don't have one mom, one dad, more than one child, and the list goes on. In fact, some of us have family members who have not been around for years. These are estranged family members, and those relationships are more than just difficult. For most, they are painful to even think about.

God did something very special in giving us Jesus' life. His life showed that we can be reconciled (brought back together) to God. Someone who seems too holy to even think about somehow becomes closer than our breath because of Jesus. This act of reconciliation is an awesome model for us. Jesus showed us what it takes to bring restoration to a relationship that was either broken or never existed before. This new creation may seem like an impossible situation for people who have strained relationships, but as difficult as it may be to get there, reconciliation is possible.

Is there someone in your life you would like to reconcile with?

About this Plan

Familia

“Family” is a concept understood in every country, culture, and language, but we all have unique family structures, traditions, problems, and dysfunctions. It's not always easy to love our families, but the Bible is full of guidance on how to love each other well — we just have to be willing to apply that at home. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll discover how to do that.
