Did you ever play with a Potato Head toy growing up? How much fun was it to put an ear where the mouth goes and put an eyeball in the armpit? The best. While creating a Franken-potato was a lot of fun, every spot on that little Potato Head was originally meant for a specific body part. I mean, would Mr. Potato Head from Toy Story be Mr. Potato Head with arms for eyes or ears for legs? Uh, no. That would be terrifying.
Just like Mr. Potato Head's body parts all have a unique role and function, so do we. In the Bible, Paul, who wrote many letters that now are books in the Bible, talks about this idea that we all have a place in God's world. We all have a special work that helps support God's mission and purpose in the world. Not only that, but when we are doing our part well, the other parts of Jesus' "body" get stronger and, in turn, make the body healthy! We all work together by celebrating one another's roles to play. So what part do you think you play in the body of Christ?
What work are you doing or can you do to contribute to the growth and health of others?

About this Plan
If someone asked who you are, what would you say? Are you a musician? A basketball player? A friend? A daughter or son? Those things might be true, but have you ever felt like you’re still figuring out who you are, what you’re good at, or why you’re here? In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore who Jesus is and discover who we’re meant to be.
