Are you the kind of person who sees the glass half empty or half full? Does it change depending on your mood? Maybe on good days, you're likely to see the good around you! But when you're having a bad day, or life is a little difficult at the moment, it becomes way too easy to dwell on everything that's going wrong. But in those darker moments, how do we shift our perspective? How can we change our focus from what's going wrong so we can remember there are still things to celebrate, be grateful for, or look forward to?
The difference is hope. When we have hope, it changes our perspective and shifts the way we engage with others and the world around us. Hope is the thing that tells us all isn't lost. Hope is the thing that motivates us to keep going. And the good news is, because of Jesus, our hope isn't unfounded, unrealistic, or just silly optimism. We don't hope without reason. Our hope is in someone who's real, trustworthy, dependable, and unchanging. That's what God is like.
How have you already found hope in Jesus? How do you still need to experience more of his hope?
