Don't Buy the Lieنموونە
We buy the lie when we let ourselves be fooled by our emotions
There are many things that will try to fool you. The question is: are you going to let yourself be fooled or not? We buy the lie when we let ourselves be fooled by our emotions. Esau let himself be beaten by his emotions, by his tiredness, by his exhaustion, by the hunger.
My question is: are you letting yourself be fooled by your emotions?
What lie are you buying because you let your situation, your tiredness, your exhaustion, your hunger or your need lead you to make decisions that divert you from the path God has for your life?
Jeremiah 17:9 says that our heart is wicked. Moreover, Jesus said that we are not contaminated by external things, but by those things that we let into our life. That's why I love knowing that the Bible is filled with verses that speak of taking care of the heart, of learning to deposit the correct things in us.
So, even though it's true that the heart is wicked and we can't let our emotions lead our lives, we need to assume the responsibility of guarding our heart, for it determines the course of our lives.
How are you guarding your heart in order to not let yourself be fooled by your emotions?
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for speaking to me today. Thank you for showing me once more that I need to guard my heart. I ask that you help me to not let my emotions take control. Help me to look beyond my current emotions and to walk by conviction. In Jesus' name. Amen.
