What does in mean to live in the victory of Christ?
Are you walking in the victory of Christ?
Romans 5:17 CSB For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
This scripture highlights the good news of the gospel. Think about it for a second! One man, Adam, got us into deep trouble. All of mankind was convinced and convicted of their shame, guilt, and pain in this life. Each one of us deserved death by association. But that was not God’s final destination for His creation.
Instead, God had it all planned out. He demonstrated the power of one man’s choice. In the same way that Adam opened the door for sin to rule and dominate humankind, Christ gave Himself as an innocent to pay the penalty of sin. God saw equal value in us when He gave the life of His son in exchange for us. He restored us to an intimate relationship and friendship with Himself.
Not only that, but He set us up to rule and reign as kings in this life. There is no skulking around in the chains of our old life and sinful nature. Instead, we experience the extravagant love of God in that He set us abundantly free. We have been included in His death and resurrection. As believers, we identify and associate with our latest status and get to express our regal freedom as we partner with Christ in thought and action.
Action steps:
- Determine in what way you could further associate with Christ.
- And in doing so, determine how that would enable you to rule in this life.

About this Plan
In the person of Jesus, God calls all people not to simply know about Him, but to follow Him with all that we are. Following Jesus daily is more like a habit than it is a moment. Habits are things we do often and regularly, without consciously thinking we have to do them. This 40-day plan will explore life-giving habits to establish us in the new life that Jesus gives.
