Crisis Convertedنموونە
Theme: God is unique.
Crisis Converted Then:
King Cyrus II of Persia had no intimate knowledge of Yahweh. At best, he may have known him as the God of Israel. But Yahweh has always been more than Israel’s God. He is unmatched, unparalleled, and so powerful that light and darkness themselves call him their creator.
What chance could Cyrus II possibly have in avoiding this God? Yahweh anoints this Persian king, holds his hand, and blazes a trail for him even to the holding places of national treasures.
The reason God does this is for the sake of his people - his tiny, war-torn, scattered, rebellious, fickle people. There is no other god like Yahweh.
Crisis Converted Now:
God is the champion of our entire world. He is not thwarted by kings or presidents. But, he can anoint, summon and carry along any leader in order to further his kingdom mission. He does this as a display to us and all the world that he is utterly unique. There is no god like Yahweh.
And there is nothing more unique than a god who would take on flesh and blood, be the light of the world, confuse darkness, defeat death and reign as Messiah (the anointed one) with all authority in heaven and earth. He is making peace where there was once hostility. Pray today that he will bring his earth to be as it is in heaven.

About this Plan
This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
