Practice Grit So You Can Reach New Goals
This Bible Plan promised to get you ready for anything by helping you practice character. So, are you? Are you ready for anything yet?
You might need a little more practice. But, if you’re asking God to build His characteristics in you, and you’ve completed the challenges so far, you’re on your way to becoming someone who’s ready for anything life throws your way!
For your last day of this Bible Plan, you’re going to focus on making some goals so you don’t give up on this journey of practicing character.
Good grief—the Quizman was tossing out some great wisdom there at the end. Did you hear it all?
“Christ gives you the strength to focus on what’s in front of you. Christ gives you the strength to get up the mountains and the strength to get back up when you fall. … His strength gives you passion and perseverance. You don’t have to shy away from the hard things, for you can do everything through the strength of Christ. You can have grit.”
You’re ready for anything when you live like this.
Ask yourself: What keeps you from having the grit to follow through on goals you know God has placed in your heart?
Challenge yourself: Think back to Day Two’s challenge. You were supposed to start a habit that would help you develop a godly characteristic you wanted more of in your life. How’s it going? Do you need to use some grit and keep trying? Is the goal not working out well? Do you need to develop a new goal to help you build up this trait? Today’s challenge is to keep going! It might take you years to develop a characteristic that’s not natural for you. Some people have a quick temper, but God can still develop patience within them. Over time and with grit, God can do an amazing work in you, too. Don’t give up!
Pray: God, thank You for the work You’ve begun in me. Help me not to get tired of doing what’s right. Help me to make goals that will help me to do what You’ve called me to do with each and every day of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
