The Holy Spirit
The third Person of the triune God is the Holy Spirit. He is one with the Father and the Son, eternally and fully God. We read about him in the creation account, and at several moments in the Old Testament where the Spirit came "upon" people to equip them for special tasks.
When Jesus was baptized, the Holy Spirit descended and remained on him. That was the beginning of a new era. After Jesus had gone back to heaven, he sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of believers.
The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin and points them towards Jesus. Moreover, he gives life, indwells, and teaches believers in order to deepen their understanding of the work of Jesus. He transforms them into the image of their Lord and Savior. And he sends them out to testify about the glory of Jesus.
Do you recognize how the Holy Spirit is at work in your life?
