More Than a Bookنموونە
One key person we learn about in the Old Testament is named David. When David was very young, God used him to kill a giant, Goliath, who was mocking some of the Israelites (check out 1 Samuel 17).
David was just a small shepherd and wasn’t anything special, but God had big plans for him, including becoming King of Israel. God also made a big promise to David - that the special Savior God was going to send would come through his line and be one of David’s descendants.
David’s life was full of ups and downs - if you have never read the book of Psalms, take a look - it’s full of David’s songs of praise to God and his complaints about all of the bad things and feelings that he was experiencing. However, God still used David despite all of his messes as a key player in his plan.
Even though David sinned and messed up, God still used him as the ancestor for Jesus, the greatest King of all.
Challenge: Take a moment and read Psalm 100. This is a song that David wrote to God, praising Him for how great He is! Even though David messed up a lot, God used him to do great things. God will do the same for each of us. Take some time after you read to thank God for using us even though we all make mistakes.
