What Is Beautiful?

DAY 5 OF 5

One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

There can never be another you, and there can never be another me. “You are an original, ” Paul says in Galatians 5:26, an irreplaceable image-bearer of God & His beauty. That’s ASTOUNDING. But easier said than lived. All it takes is one post, or picture, or comment, and we seem to instantly be sucked into envies of another’s beauty, let alone illusions and lies regarding our own.

Seeing who God truly is invites glimpses into who we truly are, namely as daughters made in our the image of our beautiful Maker & forever Daddy. In other words, leaning into God’s beauty lays the foundation for discoveries of our own. So the best gift we can give ourselves (and daughters / younger girls in our lives!) is authentic engagements with our own beauty stories.

DO THIS:

Sit with God for awhile and simply enjoy His flawless presence & beauty. Maybe you would enjoy pulling out some watercolors, or strolling at a park. Take some time to reflect on these five days of introspection and truthful study—what have they been like for you? In what areas do you still desire growth and healing?

About this Plan

What Is Beautiful?

It's a question we all ask at some point in our lives. It's also a question many of us struggle to answer in a way that satisfies or affirms us. But what if we could change that for our daughters? What if we could give them a picture of beauty they can embrace, a picture they can see every day looking back at them in the mirror?
