Instilling Core Values | Personal Reminders
In this series, we’re discussing the importance of developing, communicating, and instilling core values into your organization. In Deuteronomy 6, God gave directions to the Israelites on how to instill His values into the hearts of children.
The second directive God gave the Israelites is stated in Deuteronomy 6:8. In this verse, God said, “Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.”
The principle we can derive from this verse that can be applied to business is the importance of personal and physical reminders.
If you desire your values to be embraced, it is helpful for them to become personal for your staff. Some ideas include having staff members recite your company values at staff meetings and/or recognizing an employee when they model one of your values.

Many organizations go through the exercise of developing core values, only to have employees ignore them. Fortunately, God gave us guidance in Deuteronomy 6 when He commanded the Israelites to instill His values in their children. In this four-part series we'll unpack those commands and apply them to business.
