Bold Faith - Part 4 - SE Studentsنموونە
Bold faith lasts beyond right now, and it lasts beyond you. If your faith is bold, as it should be, it will be evident to those around you and will last beyond your life. If you’ve ever skipped rocks into a river or simply tossed a stone into water, you’ve seen that it leaves a ripple effect. The rock disturbs the peaceful, still water, causing waves to happen and spread for a short time.
A person with bold faith is like a rock that continues to leave ripples, or perhaps a person who continues to throw rocks into water. When we have bold faith it leaves a ripple effect on the people around us, and on the generations to come after us.
Our reading today is from a letter Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica. It was a church that Paul started, but Paul’s faith left ripples in the lives of believers there, who then left ripples beyond themselves even despite severe suffering. Verse 8 says, “your faith in God has become known everywhere.”
We should all long for this type of faith – a faith that has become known everywhere. Not so that we become known, but so that God becomes famous. This is a bold faith that lasts beyond now, beyond suffering, beyond temptation, and beyond ourselves. Take a few moments today to dream about how your faith in God could last beyond you and change the trajectory of your future and those around you.
