A FRUITFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)
In the life of believers the Holy Spirit is the helper, comforter, and teacher who also convict us when we sin. We are born again to live in this Spirit, to be the children of God which produces the fruits of righteousness in our life.
The congregation in Galatians was reminded not to live their life for vain matters. The same reminder is given to us, to those who have been saved by God, for us not to come back to our dark old life.
What does cause believers to turn back to the old, dark life? One answer is because they do not live in total repentance. Total surrender will not be experienced in a believer’s life if they still rely on their own strength to live out their life. Another answer is when their heart leans on the world for life's solutions. Those that wait upon the Lord and surrender to God want to be led by God and they will not reject being disciplined in spiritual matters.
We cannot produce good things in life by ourselves, because all good things in this life can only be worked out by the Holy Spirit. When our life is filled with the Holy Spirit every day, then His Spirit who lives within us will produce the fruits of holiness The world cannot produce the fruits of Spirit or the fruits of righteousness; only by living with the Holy Spirit we can produce fruits of God's Spirit and righteousness.
When we are filled with Holy Spirit every day, God’s Spirit within us will produce the fruits of His Holy Spirit.
