The Heart

DAY 5 OF 5

The Heart

By Bryan Craig

SCRIPTURE:

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23

THOUGHT:

This “heart” of a man is a deep cavern with many mysteries, and as Solomon proclaims, it permeates our very life. He tells us to guard our hearts. In Philippians 4:7, Paul also tells us to pray so that God’s peace would guard our hearts. Many of us have had our hearts wounded in the past, and the scabs and scars still remain. Many can feel their hearts under attack right now. This week, we are learning that God wants to give us new hearts. We can test our hearts to see where we are with Him. He will purify our hearts. We serve out of our hearts. And we must protect our hearts.

APPLICATION:

Where is your heart under attack? Is there an unresolved wound that Satan keeps attacking? Are you praying so that God can bring peace to your heart? Are you hiding God’s Word in your heart? Spend some time journaling about these things. Allow the great Heart Surgeon to do a scan of your heart and let Him tell you how to keep your heart healthy.

RESPONSE:

Do you sense God asking you to do anything specific in regards to your heart? Write a prayer to God from your heart to His, giving Him your heart and expressing your love and gratitude to Him for all He has done in your life. Ask Him to help you remember all the times He has been there on your heart’s journey. Ask Him to show you people with whom you need to share your heart. Write it down. Be blessed.

About this Plan

The Heart

When you think of the human heart, what comes to mind? Love? Emotion? Courage? Pain? Our hearts matter to God and the more we understand our hearts, the more we will understand God’s will for our lives. For the next five days let's look at some scriptures and listen to what God says about our hearts.
