Forty Days Without Fearنموونە
OVERCOMING FEAR OF FAILURE Part One
I’m going to let you in on a secret. We’re all going to fail at things, and sometimes, we’re going to fail really badly. Every human that has ever lived, has failed. We are not alone!
Failing is a universal part of life; just like a child learning to walk for the first time, there is always a process behind eventual success. So why do we find ourselves terrified at taking the next step? Out of fear of falling on our faces, we can inadvertently paralyse ourselves.
We may have some bumps in the road, some regrettable moments, and obvious shortcomings, but we’re invited to trust in God to direct our paths, rather than trying to be self-sufficient or self-preserving. Even if we fall and fail, God promises to catch us and be the light on our path to recovery. So, will we choose to step out into the unknown, in faith that God is in control?
To make our dreams, or the hopes in our hearts, a reality, we have to risk stepping out. Remember, the road less travelled always comes with pitfalls, hurdles and failings. But God has got us, every step of the way, so let’s not worry about the next move and sit on the side-lines, but instead, let’s put our faith in the One who never fails. Never!
Action: Is there anything we’ve not stepped into through fear of failure? Write down a list of goals and dreams that we have on our hearts, and bring them before God in prayer – what does He say? Act upon His words!
