Quick Question: How Do I Find Joy?نموونە
It’s not always easy to be joyful. Sometimes, it’s actually really hard. The thing about joy that makes it different from happiness is that joy is not always dependent on your situation, but happiness usually is. For example, if you get a bad grade on a test, you probably won’t be very happy, but you could still be joyful because you know that you have the rest of the year to make it up! Joy is deeper than happiness and does not always change as easily as your happiness does, because it is something that comes from God, not from your circumstances. When we have difficult circumstances, it can be easy to look at them with fear and sadness, and we might worry that we will lose the joy that God gives us. God tells us what to do when we experience bad circumstances- He tells us to keep our joy that is found in Him and pray throughout every circumstance, good or bad. No matter what is going on in our lives, we can still have joy because God is with us.
Challenge: Identify a situation in your life that is hard to feel joyful about or a situation that you know you are not happy with. Then, take some time today to pray about that situation, thank God for it, tell Him how you are feeling, and ask Him to give you joy even in the midst of that situation.
