Maturing in His Body
What we believe about God is extremely important. However, how we live is equally important. The Apostle Paul shares, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3, NIV) During these crazy times, be conscious of what we do. For example, one minute, you share a beautiful Scripture on Facebook, and one minute later, share a hate-filled argument with someone else. Remember, each of us has received more grace than we deserve. We must humble ourselves and trust God in and through us. When God calls us to serve, He provides us with the power to succeed. What a teammate we have in the Holy Spirit!
Are you living in a way that fulfills your purpose? Men, we have an Uncommen mission. All too often, we become a prisoner to our past. We get so caught up in preserving our history we fear the future. When we fear the future, we lose every chance of making real change in the world. I would instead become a prisoner to Christ and fulfill His purpose in me for His Glory. The Apostle Paul states, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:1–6, NIV)
