THE HARVEST TIME HAS COME
Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! (John 4:35)
What are you going to do if you are a farmer and see that your crop is ready for harvest? Will you just look at the field and smile? Of course not! You would immediately rush to reap this big harvest. Jesus also said the same thing to the disciples. His words tell us that fields of hearts are ripe and ready to harvest.
Farmers wait for the harvest for a long time from when they start planting, watering, fertilizing, and monitoring the plants’ growth. All of these are done with exertion and perhaps with tears. What we have done in prayer and fasting for the harvest of souls? All our efforts in carrying out His commandments will never be in vain. The righteousness we sow will surely bring rewards.
If this is the harvest time, then what will we do to reap it? Prepare plowshares and knives to prune the harvest. Prepare our hearts and minds with the power of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Father to fill us with His Spirit, so that by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we may be sharp to harvest those who are ready to be reaped for the Lord.
As God’s anointed servant, let's talk to other people around us. Let’s tell them about the great God we have experienced in our lives. Let’s tell them everything about the works of God, that He is love, and is always faithful. He patiently waits for them to know Him and cares about their situation. He can help them, and more than that, He also wants them to live with Him forever.
The time of harvest and restoration has come; let us experience it.
