YEAH NAH: Saying Yes to God & No to the Worldنموونە
"The Lord is with you, mighty warrior!"
To those around him, Gideon was the weakest family member, in the weakest tribe, hiding in fear. But God called him a strong warrior. Whose opinion is more important to you—the opinion of others, or the opinion of the one who created you? Do you look to God for affirmation or to likes and follows on Instagram? Finding acceptance and approval through what we post on social media or how many friends we have online is a hollow and empty source of joy. We find true security in Jesus who loves us and knows us better than anyone else.
Is social media getting in your way when it comes to focusing on Jesus? Gideon tears down an altar before he defeats the Midianites: are there things in your life distracting you from Jesus that you need to remove? Maybe you need to unfollow an account that sends your thoughts down a bad path, or maybe you need to stop chasing after people's approval through what you post. We all have things that distract us from Jesus, but when we remove them we can see clearly and walk in victory over the battles we face.
