Fully Rely on God
Psalms 59:9-10
… You, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.
King Jeroboam was planning a battle against king Abijah. Abijah’s army was outnumbered by Jeroboam’s. Abijah had 400,000 soldiers while Jeroboam had 800,000 soldiers. Knowing this fact, Abijah knew that the only way to win against his enemy was to fully rely on God.
Abijah stood on the mountain and gave a speech to Jeroboam and his soldiers. He was telling that the kingdom of Judah had God’s priests who worshipped the true God. He said that he believed that he and his army would not need to fight as God Himself would fight for them. God was with Judah so no enemy would be able to stand against them.
True enough, the priests blew the trumpet and God gave them victory! They won because they depended on God.
When you fully rely on God, that means that you let Him take care of things that are too big for you to handle. It means that you let Him help you feel better when you're scared or sad. When you don't know what to do, just rely on God. Let God's Word teach you to fully rely on God.
Prayer
Dear God, help me to know that I can rely on You in everything. Help me to trust You no matter what happens or how I am feeling. Amen.
