DIY for the Soulنموونە
When buying a house, buyers have their list of “must haves”. It might include open concept, a separate shop or “man cave”, bonus room for the kids, etc. Often buyers are looking for places within their home that everyone can “retreat” to.
During the stay-at-home order it was difficult to find a place to retreat to. For me, it seemed like I never had any personal space. I couldn’t even go to the bathroom without being interrupted by both of my boys. My boys also felt the impacts of no personal space. Because of the stay-at-home order, and schools staying closed, they were forced to be with each other almost 24/7, and desperately needed alone time.
We all need our personal space and daily alone time. It is so important for our sanity, solitude, and soul. I’m not talking about a golf outing, spa day, or scrolling mindlessly through the news and social media. But a space and time where we can truly be alone and meet with God. When my soul feels rushed, this verse reminds me to stop and seek the Lord.
Where is your favorite spot to meet with God? Are you seeking Him before your busy schedule and daily demands take over your thoughts?
