Good Morning: A Minimal Devotionalنموونە
Honor
Good morning.
I’m sure we can agree that it’s essential to honor the Lord in every area of our lives. But I want to discuss honoring all people. We honor, not because of someone’s position, but because of their reflection. To explain: We are all made in the image of God, whether we are leading the fan club or not. Therefore, we honor all people. I can often find true honor in someone when they honor their server at a restaurant or when they can honor someone they disagree with. Authentic honor sees all people worthy of it. This occurs, once again, because of who they reflect. To choose to honor someone is something that we won’t regret, no matter how challenging it might be.
Honor is truly the currency of the Kingdom. I’ve found that many wouldn’t want to be financially broke on Earth, but they don’t mind being broke in the Kingdom. This is such a common travesty and not the will of God for our lives. Ultimately, we attract what we honor. Jesus had a way of honoring and serving all people. The message that the messenger carried drew many. May we honor always so that people are drawn to the same Gospel that redeemed you and me. To honor is to reflect Him.
In this moment, how could you honor someone that you work or study with?
