YEET: Things to Throwنموونە
Yeet yourself, yeet your cares, yeet your fears… I get it, this HAS been a weird Bible study! This last day of the study is something else we need to yeet, but it’s also something we can’t yeet on our own; it’s our sin.
What is sin? It’s anything that goes against what God told us to do (or not do). But what does sin do? It creates separation and hostility against God. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve ate of the fruit that God told them not to eat; that’s an example of a sin.
Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 says “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Think about this a moment; ‘wages’ are what you earn for the work you did. So, when it comes to the work you have done to defy God (by sinning), you ‘earned’ death. We have to get rid of that, we have to yeet our sin! But we can’t do it on our own. That’s where our savior, Jesus, comes in.
God instituted in the Old Testament that blood must be shed to pay for our sins. And throughout the Old Testament sacrifice after sacrifice was made, because we’re all broken and sinful. But when Jesus came, he died on the cross for ALL our sins.
Our sin created separation between us and God. But Jesus paid the price to REMOVE that separation. You can’t yeet your sins, but the good news is that Jesus already paid the price for us all.
Here’s what it says in Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I hope you know how much Jesus loves you! He took away the sins of the world. Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, you are so good to me! I want to have a personal relationship with you, thank you for taking away the sins of the world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
