[Certainty In The Uncertainty Series] The Plan of God and Response of Manنموونە
Our response to God’s plan exalts Jesus
We have been considering God’s plan behind the events that took place before Jesus entered Jerusalem. Three people (two disciples, and the owner of the colt and the donkey) willingly offered to serve Jesus. They did not choose or control God’s plan and its unfolding, but they got to decide how they were going to respond to it. By saying yes, they got to become part of God’s plans; and they made history!
Today, I would like to take us further into the unfolding of God’s plan and Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. The Bible tells us that Jesus’ disciples took their garments and placed them over the colt so that Jesus could sit down on it. Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of Him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Jesus was the center of the procession, and the people around Him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:9 NLT).
The people of Jerusalem were welcoming their Savior, the Lamb of God, who was going to walk into death and walk out in resurrection. Jesus became the center of their procession and walked into Jerusalem receiving their praise.
At this very moment, the world is surrounded by a deadly virus. We have been humbled; we have been carrying a garment of heaviness, worry, anxiety, financial difficulties, and fear of death for our lives and the lives of those we love. Like the people of Jerusalem, we recognize that we need a Savior. All we need to do is lay down our heaviness at the feet of Jesus and praise Him, because He is the only One who has the power to save us.
Allow Him to carry your burdens as He makes His triumphant entrance into your heart, home, and family. All our enemies have been put under His feet. Surrender everything and exalt the One who won the victory over death and every disease.
God has a plan even though right now, the world looks dark and uncertain. Make Him the center of your worship and praise. God is turning people’s hearts toward Himself. Let us lay down our garments of heaviness at His feet. He will deliver us, and we will praise Him for the rest of our lives on earth and in heaven.
