2 Samuel

DAY 4 OF 35

Questions to consider:

1. What does this passage teach you about God?

2. What does this teach you about humanity and the world?

3. The two brothers, Rechab and Baanah, killed Ish-Bosheth and state that “the LORD (God) has avenged my lord (David), the king, this day on Saul and on his offspring.” They were saying this was a part of God’s plan when in reality they were only seeking personal gain from David. When was a time you tried to disguise your selfish desires as faithfulness to God? What should we do instead?

Let’s pray:

Father God, forgive me for the times I have used my relationship with you for personal gain. Help me to find ways to serve your kingdom over trying to build my own. Amen.
