Love God Greatly: Empowered

DAY 39 OF 40

Wouldn’t it be nice if God came to us in a dream and told us how things would work out for us? We may not be stranded at sea in the middle of a storm, but the storms of our life can cause us just as much fear. When we are tempted to lose hope, Paul’s words offer encouragement.⁣

Keep up your courage! When life seems desperate, when there is nowhere left to turn, keep up your courage! The same way God did not abandon Paul and the sailors on the ship, He has not and will not abandon us. ⁣

Our faith increases through trials. Our trials are not meant to break us, but to refine us and cause us to grow our faith in God. We can trust God’s character in our darkest moments. When God acts in ways that seem contrary to His character, we can rest knowing He is not yet finished. He works all things for our good (Rm 8:28) and He cares for us (1Pt 5:7). Keep up your courage!⁣

Lord God, I am convinced no matter what storms I face, You never leave me. You are faithful and You are working, even when I cannot see Your hand. Help me believe You are for me. Help me trust You when things seem desperate. Amen. ⁣

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Empowered

Empowered: Yesterday and Today is a deep study of the book of Acts. As we study the early church and the spread of the gospel we hope to find encouragement and strength to continue spreading the message of the gospel in our spheres of influence. God empowered the early church to share the gospel every single day, and He does the same for us, even now.
