DAY 8 OF 9

A New Beginning

Lamentations 3:22-23

The Lord’s love never ends. His mercies never stop. They are new every morning.

God told Moses that every 50th year was to be a year of rest which is called the Jubilee Year. A year where each piece of land and house should go back to its original owner. Those who had sold themselves as slaves should regain their liberty. All outstanding debts between the Israelites had to be wiped clean. Jubilee represents freedom, forgiveness and mercies of God. The year of Jubilee declared that God was not only the One who owned the land of Israel but He was sovereign over all time and nature.

The year of Jubilee is like a new beginning and an open door to walk through. The best way to experience a new beginning is to forgive, to restore and to renew. The Lord of the new beginning worked in the Israelites’ lives and He’ll work in yours too.

Say this every morning before you start your day.

God’s mercies are new every morning.

God’s compassion is new every morning.

God’s faithfulness is new every morning.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, great is Your faithfulness. I want to experience Your goodness and mercy every single day I live. Amen.
