DAY 2 OF 9

Confession

James 5:16

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other. Do this so that God can heal you.

The trespass offering was meant for the Israelites to give when they committed a sin. The priest had to do it on their behalf, then only after that, the person’s sins would be forgiven. The priest would symbolically wash away the sin by sprinkling some animal’s blood at different parts of the temple. The blood represented life while the sprinkling of blood showed how God was cleaning away the sins. The whole process shows that God takes sin very seriously.

When someone commits a sin, he will either ignore it or confess it. If he ignores it, he will keep feeling guilty, and sometimes it may lead to depression (deep sadness and discouragement). There is no way out from this except by confessing the sin and asking for forgiveness from Jesus Christ. That is the only way out.

If you make a mistake, do not run away. Come to Jesus, confess your sin and say that you are sorry. Thank Jesus for His blood that cleanses you from all your sins and let Him clean your heart.

Prayer

Dear God, help me to be honest with You about my mistakes because I know only You can set me free and make me righteous. Amen.
