Living the Blessed Life | Life, Not Law
Tithing is life, not law. You don’t tithe just because tithing is a part of Old Testament law. You tithe because it’s life to you and your family. This is a principle that runs all throughout the word of God. Tithing is meant to be a normal part of your everyday lives.
The Bible says that your heart follows your treasure. That is why tithing represents the ultimate “heart test” for every Christian. More significantly, however, is that tithing is the only area where you are invited to test God. He promises to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings if you will only tithe. It’s a simple truth really. If you tithe, you’re blessed. If you don’t, you’re cursed.
When tithing becomes life to you and not law, it becomes one of your greatest joys. Tithing isn’t a grim duty or punishment. It’s an amazing opportunity that brings you tremendous benefits. Begin honoring the Lord today with your firstfruits, your tithe, and see what happens. A blessed life awaits you, but it begins with a heart commitment to honor, obey and bless the Lord with your tithe.
Memory Verse
"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20–21
