Book of Isaiah

DAY 15 OF 22

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

Through the prophet Isaiah, God affirmed his people: "Before me there was no God formed, and after me there will be no more. I am, I am the Lord and there is no Savior besides me.” Israel belonged to the Lord. God Almighty would always be with them because He loved them. No matter what the Israelites did He was a God who still saw them as precious, noble, and worthy to receive His love.

The people of Israel were unfaithful to God. They worshiped other gods who were not God but God forgave their transgressions and wrongs. He did not even remember their mistakes but instead, made something new for them. What a loving and faithful God.

When you have something valuable, you will not use it in vain. But when someone that you think is important hurts you or hurts your feelings, can you forgive the person and see him or her as valuable as God does? Can you overcome your disappointment and apply the love of Christ to that person? Can you still show Christ's love to him?

God teaches us by His deeds. And as His children we must follow His example. We have received His great love; now it is time we share it with those around us.

Because I have felt the love of God, I am able to love anyone.
