Pray For the World: Sub-Saharan Africaنموونە
Sub-Saharan Africans are very spiritual people who acknowledge spiritual forces at work in the world around them. They try to appease or manipulate these powers through prayers, charms, sacrifices, and divination. According to research, twenty-one percent of the population of Sub-Saharan Africa is Muslim, thirty-six percent is Christian, and forty percent is animist. In reality, regardless of one’s religious affiliation, animism influences the hearts and minds of most Sub-Saharan Africans. This animistic influence leads to a clash of beliefs difficult to overcome in everyday life. To answer big questions like, “Where will I go when I die?” many turn to religions like Islam or Christianity. However, in day-to-day problems, like poor health or relationship conflicts, they look to African traditional religion.
Pray that Sub-Saharan Africans will surrender and commit their lives fully to God, and not depend on works or sacrifices.

About this Plan
In Sub-Saharan Africa there is a growing Christian population. But in the sprawling cities, barren deserts, rain forests, and tropical islands nearly sixteen thousand people groups live with little access to the gospel. Partner with us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them. In this reading plan, learn more about the people of Sub-Saharan Africa, who are loved by God, and pray Scripture over them.
