Drama (And How to Deal)نموونە
Break Up With Relationship Drama
Okay, so, do you feel awkward when it comes to boys or girls? You’re not alone!
But if you feel like you need to change something about yourself to get someone to like you, that’s drama you don’t need.
You’re still figuring out who you are! Let that breathe. Invest in your friendships first. Develop the traits of love and friendship like honesty, trust, patience, kindness, helping, listening, and so on. These are the traits God wants to build inside you now. Make sure you’re becoming who God wants you to be, not who your latest crush wants you to be!
Listen to Kirby again. She’s got a whole lot of wisdom to share on this topic.
So much YES! Kirby got it right! You need to clothe yourself in God’s love. Not your crush’s love. Break up with the idea that having the attention or affection of someone else will make you whole. You don’t need to believe that drama. It’s a lie! Don’t fall for it! God’s love makes us whole. Jesus is our shalom, remember? Our completion. The one who fills all our needs.
Ask yourself: Do I ever act a certain way to get the attention of someone I have a crush on? Do I ever spend more time worrying about what they think about me than what God thinks of me? What would happen if I clothed myself in God’s love instead?
Challenge yourself: Write down all the traits of love that you read about in 1 Corinthians today. Patient, kind, not jealous, etc. Then, circle the aspects of love that you want to display more clearly this week.
Pray: God, You are love. I don’t need to be anything for anyone. I just need to be who You created me to be. You created me to clothe myself in Your love. Your love never fails. Help me to show everyone I meet a new glimpse of Your love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
