Book of 2 Kingsنموونە
IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD
A good father will surely protect, provide and supply the needs of his children. The father will surely expect his children to grow as obedient and respectful child who would please his parents. There is a two-way relationship between both of them.
God has chosen Israelites from all nations in the world to become a blessing for others. God did many great and mighty things for this nation since they were delivered from the land of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land by sending 10 plagues to the Egyptians, dividing the Red Sea, feeding manna to the Israelites in the desert, and protecting them from the scorch of the sun and darkness with the pillar of cloud and fire, etc.
After all things that He had done for Israelites, don’t you think that it is appropriate for the Lord of all lords and the God of all gods to ask Israelites to fear Him, to live according to His ways, to love Him and to worship Him with all of their hearts and souls?
If they did all of these, the Israelites would not only please the Lord, but they would also be blessed with the blessings stated in Deuteronomy 28. The longing of God’s heart is to see that His goodness and mercy would always happen in the lives of His chosen people, including all of us, His spiritual Israel at this time.
Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.
(Proverbs 14: 26).
