THE LORD ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISE
Have you ever felt disappointed because someone failed to keep his promise? I am sure that all of us have experienced this. Sooner or later, we become so used to these kind of people who only promise but never keep the promise. We often tolerate this weakness.
What happens if God is the one who makes the promise? Abraham was promised a son by God when he was 75 years old. The fact showed that this promise was not realized even after Abraham was 99 years old. We would understand if Abraham became disappointed and angry with God who had allowed him to wait for 25 years for a son.
God understood Abraham’s strength, therefore in Genesis 15:5, God emphasized His promise to Abraham again. Abraham’s descendants would be as many as the stars in the sky, and Abraham believed the Lord.
We might be waiting for the fulfilment of God’s promises in our lives. Just because we are disappointed with our friends (who do not fulfil their promises), we think that God will disappoint us as well. God will always keep His promise. Just like Abraham was strengthened, we will be given strength to keep believing and having faith in Him until He fulfils His promises.
Let it be known that “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” (Eccl. 3:11 a).
God’s promise is never too late; His promise will be fulfilled at the right time.
