DAY 4 OF 17

BE CAREFUL WITH PRIDE

The impact of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil was so amazing, it may have caused people to have supernatural understanding that enabled them to build the Tower of Babel. To date, people have bright and incredible ideas in all aspects of life that could be enjoyed by all of us. The Lord says in Genesis 11:6 that “then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them”.

Above everything else, people are still God’s creation with their own limitations. This limitation causes people to realize that there is other power beyond their abilities. This power refers to the power of God. The story of the Tower of Babel teaches us that people could plan anything they wanted and meet failure later if they do not involve God in their plans. During the time of the Tower of Babel, people thought they were capable enough and therefore did not need God. This sin is the sin of pride.

Sometimes, as God’s children, we also forget to involve Him in our plans. We blame Him when our plans fail even though the real root of this failure is our pride.

Proverbs 27:1 says Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16 :3).
