Signposts To Christ From Isaiahنموونە

Our lives are so often marked by busyness, stress and conflict. The opposite to this is peace and harmony. That is the vision offered by Isaiah. 

In this remarkable passage, Isaiah describes the opposites being in harmony together. Aggressive, predatory animals will coexist peacefully with those that would normally be their prey. It paints a picture of justice and order, where even the most vulnerable in a society can flourish. 

This new world order is an ideal that we have not seen yet on this earth. It is, in this sense, an eschatological vision. It is a future that is depicted in the New Testament with the future reign of Christ. At that time, creation will be in true unity. The challenge for us is to work towards that new world order of peace.
