No Shadow Of Fear

DAY 2 OF 7

Perfect love casts out fear

As Christians, we will come across frightful situations.

The fear of tomorrow, the uncertainty of the outcome of a situation, and even the dark times we are living in can create an existential crisis.

Fear can be a symptom of something deeper going on inside of us. For example, the deep-seated fear of dying can present itself in a fear of flying.

There is a root cause of fear and it often lies in what we believe about God’s love. If we truly rest in the knowledge that Jesus is love and that He loves us, we will be open to His acceptance of us. This eradicates fear completely; to know that you’re fully seen, known, and loved.

The human thing to do is to worry about tomorrow and its uncertainties. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-8 not to worry but rather to focus our minds on transforming our thoughts.

The alternative to fear is love. Therefore we must cast our focus on Him and lay our burdens at His feet. Remember, with His love, He will calm all your fears.

Action: Take each scripture from today, read it aloud a few times, and write what stands out to you from it.
