Who Does God Say I Am?

DAY 6 OF 6

Chosen by God

Jesus chose you for amazing things. In Ephesians 1:4, the Apostle Paul tells us we were chosen to be God’s special friends even before He made the earth. God handpicked us, made us in His image, calls us His treasured sons and daughters, and has invited us to His eternal party.

This week we learned about the names God calls us. He calls us Bright, Upgraded, Valuable, and Invited. When we remember who God says we are, we can reject false, hurtful labels. We can always accept the wonderful labels God gives us.

Ask yourself: Out of all the labels you’ve learned this week that God has given you, which one means the most to you and why? Bright, Upgraded, Valuable, or Invited?

Challenge yourself: Write yourself a letter to read in exactly one year. Encourage your future self to remember that God determines your identity—that you are made in His image, called His son or daughter, valuable, and included in His will. Fold it up, and put today’s date plus one year on the outside. Put it somewhere you won’t forget it, and read it one year from now, when it’s finally the date on the letter.

Pray: God, thank You for calling me Yours. Help me to ignore and replace false labels, and help me to embrace the names You’ve given me. Help me to live my life knowing I am Bright, Upgraded, Valuable and Invited. In Jesus’ name, amen.
