Bloom: Fresh Devotionals For Girls Part Threeنموونە
Your Life, Written by God
Who are some of your favorite authors? Growing up, I loved E.B White, Richard Peck, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Caroline Haywood, Avi, and Elizabeth George Speare, just to name a few.
Authors create worlds for us. They introduce us to amazing characters and take us on a journey. But that doesn’t happen accidentally. They don’t sit down with a pen and paper and wait for the plot to magically appear on paper. They intentionally chart a course for their characters to follow, finishing one chapter before they move onto the next.
Did you know that God is the author of life, the author of your story?
Your life is not made up of random events, experiences, and people. God is intentionally writing each scene of your life, crafting your story as a masterpiece. He has a plan for you. You must finish one chapter in order to move onto the next. And just like you don’t know the ending of a novel until you read the last page, sometimes you may not understand why certain things happen in your life.
In all the plot twists of life, know that you can trust the Master Author. Because we let God write our story, we know that our story will be one worth reading, one that brings Him glory.
Pray this with me:
Jesus, thank you for writing the chapters of my life. Thank you for your faithfulness in my past, your goodness in the present, and your sovereignty over my future. Help me to love you more every day, even when plot twists happen. I know that I can trust you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
