Jesus' Victoryنموونە
The victory fosters peace
Friends of Jesus in every generation, peace be with you. What Jesus did two thousand years ago is still bringing peace because it turns each one of us into peacemakers. Not peacekeepers. Peacemakers.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:15-17).
The peace of Christ rules our hearts and gives us very strong wills. We are thankful people but not passive people. The gospel lives among us and asserts itself through us. The peace of God is not peace and quiet. We make peace by teaching each other and redirecting each other with the wisdom of God’s Holy Word. We put serious energy into that wisdom with loud singing and praying because we are one big body of believers. The war-torn gates of hell can’t stand up to the commanding peace Jesus brings.
Spirit of the living Lord Jesus, rule in our hearts. Unite us and make us a force for good and makers of peace. This is our faith. This is our hope. This is our victory. Amen.
