Stained Glass: Eve's Story

DAY 4 OF 6

The Big Mistake

For You

Eve’s disobedience was not a grand, dramatic gesture. She was not shaking her fist at God in defiance. It was a small act of curiosity. It was her desire to answer the question, “Would I be like God?” As a result, we struggle with sin today. Sin is personal. We all do it, and we all do it for our own reasons. In most cases, like Eve’s, it’s not an intentional act of defiance. But these small acts of sin have great consequences. Like Adam and Eve, our sin is not hidden from us. We know we have wronged God. The question is, do you let sin drive you toward God or away from Him?

For Your Child

Ask this Question: What do you think sin is? (spend a few minutes discussing the answers)

Sin is what happens when we do something that God tells us is wrong. It could be lying about something, stealing, or talking bad about other people. Even disobeying your parents or teachers. Everybody sins, even you. You don’t have to do a “big wrong” to sin, you just have to choose to do what you want to do instead of what God says you should do.
