SHAME OFF YOUنموونە
Day 3.
ENOUGH ALREADY
Shame is a ruthless voice, an inner critic of all things detrimental and damaging. The foundational dialect of shame is crippling condemnation. Shame rebukes and reviles. Shame is a lying and deceitful voice.
Shame is our inner critic, a voice shouting: “You’re not enough!” Which of the following “not enough” statements best capture your false beliefs about yourself?
I’m not good enough.
I’m not smart enough.
I’m not beautiful enough.
I’m not tall enough.
I’m not thin enough.
I’m not strong enough.
I’m not brave enough.
I’m not healthy enough.
I’m not wealthy enough.
I’m not talented enough.
I’m not spiritual enough.
I’m not _______ enough.
Where did that false belief come from?
How has that false belief impacted your life?
FOR THOUGHT AND CONTEMPLATION
Choose one of the statements below that testify who you are in Christ:
I am a child of God. [Romans 8:16]
I am exceptionally gifted. [1 Corinthians 12:7]
I am a new creation. [2 Corinthians 5:17]
I am blessed with every spiritual blessing. [Ephesians 1:3]
I am loved affectionately by God. [Ephesians 2:4]
I am completely forgiven. [1 John 1:9]
Take a few minutes to be still and prayerfully ponder those sacred words.
