5 Days Of Prophecy And Our Worldنموونە
What is the key to prophecy? What brings prophecy all together and helps it to make sense for our lives? The key to prophecy is the person of Jesus Christ. All of history revolves around Him. That’s why Revelation 19 says that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (v. 10). The entire Old Testament anticipates Christ. All the events that we read about––the stories, the personalities, the law, the types, the feasts––are all in expectation of the coming Messiah.
The Gospels demonstrate the fulfillment of prophecy as Jesus Christ enters into time and space, demonstrating that He is the One that the whole Old Testament pointed toward. Then the book of Acts talks about the expansion of prophecy by the Holy Spirit, through the Church, to the world. Also, the book of Revelation tells us where history is heading and where Jesus Christ will bring culmination to history through the setting up of His millennial kingdom on into eternity.
So, from Genesis to Revelation, Jesus Christ is the unifying connection point to prophecy and the kingdom that He would establish. If you want to make sense of the prophetic Word of God, start with Jesus Christ, because He brings it all together.
